Storage (ASPI)

Detailed information about ASPI devices (HDD, CD, scanner,tape drive) and ASPI device features.

Host N, Target N, LUN N

Information about ASPI device on Host N, Target N and LUN N.

Device Name: Vendor and name of the ASPI device.

Size: Real size of ASPI device.

Device Type: ASPI device type (HDD, CD drive, scanner, tape drive).

Physical Interface: Physical interface of ASPI device (SCSI, ATAPI, IEEE, Fibre Channel, Serial ATAPI, USB).

Geometry: Heads, Sectors, Tracks: Logical number of heads, sectors per track and tracks. It has nothing to do with physical HDD parameters.

Compatibility: Compatibility of the device with the certain SCSI standard.

Vendor Specific: Any text information provide by the vendor.

Read Retry Count: Number of read retries if the first attempt fails.

Write Retry Count: Number of write retries if the first attempt fails.

Serial Number: Unique serial number.

Controller Revision: Firmware revision number.

HDD Marketing Size: The marketing size much more than real size. In one 'computer' megabyte of 1048576 bytes, but in one 'marketing' (used by HDD manufacturers) of 1000000 bytes.

Buffer Size: Buffer size of the ASPI device (you shouldn't mix it up with disk cache). Part of the buffer can be used for system purposes, and its real size can be smaller.

Rotation Speed: Specifies the speed where the medium rotates.

Device Temperature: Current temperature of ASPI device.

Location: Host, Target, LUN: Device logical address (host number, device number, logical unit number).

Manager ID: SCSI manager identifier.

Adapter ID: SCSI controller identifier.

Manufacture Date: ASPI device manufacture date.

Start/Stop Count: Number of start/stop cycles.

Ext. Self-Test Time: Time in seconds that the device requires to complete an extended self-test.

Bus Width: Device bus width.

Address Width: Device address width.
